Several hydro utility trucks and landscaping vehicles, as well as a woodchipper, were lined up on the Upper Concession Road in Ormstown early Monday morning for the start of a contested tree-cutting operation. Several families living along the scenic road were upset by news that Hydro Quebec would be cutting power and downing a significant number of trees lining the road. Those opposed to the operation insist many of the trees are healthy and the same results could be achieved by trimming branches instead of removing the entire tree.
