The city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield has announced a pilot project to bring back the public market on Saturdays throughout the month of September.
Residents and visitors will once again be able to purchase a variety of local produce and artisanal products from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the market’s new location on the Ruelle de la Quenouille.
Around 15 local and regional producers are expected to participate with fruits and vegetables, baked goods, meats, prepared foods, and other original products. A special gourmet area will be set up each Saturday in the alleyway, which is located just a few steps from the market’s previous location along the scenic Vieux Canal de Beauharnois.The success of the events this fall will determine whether the city organizes a full season next year for the public market.
