A fresh dusting of powdery snow and a slight drop in temperatures transformed the grounds near the stables at Lac des Pins in Franklin into the perfect wonderland for a winter carnival. Franklinites and visitors from surrounding municipalities came out in droves following Friday’s stormy conditions, to enjoy a day of activities including sledding, fat bike rides, warming fires, and a food truck. But by far the most popular activity for bundled-up families was horse-drawn sleigh rides that wove through the woods surrounding the enchanted site. (SR)
