The Centre de santé et de services sociaux de la Montérégie-Ouest (CISSSMO) has announced the start of construction on the new Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital. Excavation and pile-driving work are currently underway at the site located northwest of the intersection of Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and Highway 30 in Vaudreuil-Dorion. The new general and specialized hospital will include two pavilions: the first will house ambulatory and support functions, as well as the auditorium, reception facilities, and laboratories; the second will include the emergency room, operating rooms, medical imaging, and all the care units. At an estimated cost of $2.595 billion, the institution will provide an additional 404 hospital beds for the region. (SR)
