4-H club welcomes new members

Over time, the Ormstown 4-H club has developed many activities. The club has been known for its strong dairy calf club. But now, we have developed more learning opportunities such as garden club, poultry and rabbit club, and square dancing. We also have craft and woodworking days this year, and we will learn about beekeeping.

Another important thing to know is that you don’t have to live on a farm to participate in our club activities. All kids between 6 to 21 are welcome, and everyone can find something to please them. Our region and our community are important to us; therefore, we take time to give back to them. In the past we have gone to a seniors’ residence to square dance; we also volunteer for different projects like Genie in a Bottle.

The 4-H motto is “Learn by doing.” In our different activities, we take the opportunity to do projects together; this spring we will build bird houses and wind chimes under the supervision of our adult leader.

If 4-H is for you, feel free to contact us!
