A one-stop shop for entrepreneurs in the HSL

A partnership between the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent, Accès Entreprise Québec, and Services Québec now gives local entrepreneurs access to a range of free services and resources to support their business ventures, from start-up or expansion projects to consolidations, mergers, and even business acquisitions.

“The location and unique characteristics of the Haut-Saint-Laurent region make it fertile ground for entrepreneurial projects,” says MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent prefect, Louise Lebrun, noting in a press release that the MRC has assembled a team of experts specialized in regional economic development. “The advisors are there to help, among other things, in the search for financing and to direct entrepreneurs toward resources that will help to allow their projects to become both a reality and profitable,” says Lebrun.

Through this partnership, the MRC’s objective is to facilitate and accelerate local economic development and to ensure that businesses have access to personalized support as well as high-quality growth and investment capital. In addition to providing information on available MRC funds, the local advisors work with regional and national economic development organizations and consult regularly with an advisory committee composed of local business owners.

“The methods and tools for a successful entrepreneurial venture are based on best practices and experience,” explains the regional development coordinator, Réjean Lampron. “Since each promoter’s plan is unique, the role of the MRC team is to offer personalised counselling to enable each project to develop to its full potential in a sustainable manner.”

Haut-Saint-Laurent entrepreneurs who are developing a business project, looking for financing, or who are interested increasing their business’ online presence, can reach out the regional development team at the MRC to benefit from expert assistance and support.
