Over 800 people swarmed the new site of the marché public in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield on September 7 to mark a very successful return for the market. Around 20 vendors, most from the Beauharnois-Salaberry region and surrounding MRC’s including the Haut-Saint-Laurent, were present for the first of four special markets that will take place each Saturday in September. The market is now located on the Ruelle de la Quenouille, which can be found between the Jean-de La Lande Bridge and the public parking area at the corner of Victoria Street and the Avenue du Centenaire. Each of the remaining two editions on September 21 and 28 will feature local and regional producers and artisans, as well as a tasting area, picnic tables, umbrellas for shade, grass carpets, and even some bean-bag seating.
