November continued to be warm through to the middle of the month, although a couple of degrees cooler than at the start. The average temperature for the first half of the month was 6.2 degrees Celsius, down two degrees from the first week, but still considerably above the normal of 2.9 C for the entire month. The warmer-than-average temperatures were despite the fact that overnight lows dipped to -5 to -7 C on the 13th and 14th of the month.
There were just 6.5 millimetres of rain during the last week, bringing the month-to-date total to 11.6 mm – we’ve had so little precipitation that we’ve resorted to counting the decimal points! Since the beginning of September, the area has only had 95 mm of rain, which is equivalent to just a month’s worth of precipitation over a two-and-a-half-month period.
The forecast for the remainder of the month will be somewhat closer to normal for the daytime highs, but the overnight lows will be considerably above normal which means that November is likely to be warmer than usual. There is no snow in the forecast until the end of the first week of December.
