A COVID-19 outbreak on the third floor at the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown has been confirmed by the CISSSMO. There have been fewer than five cases confirmed at this time.
The positive cases
According to Jade St-Jean, a spokesperson for the CISSSMO, the individuals who tested positive for the virus were transferred to the COVID-19 unit at the Anna-Laberge Hospital in Châteauguay.
“The Infection Prevention and Control (ICP) team has been deployed to the Barrie Memorial Hospital and has conducted a routine screening of all patients on the unit and has tested all employees,” says St-Jean. “An epidemiological investigation is also underway.”
The CISSSMO insists the situation is being closely monitored and that all infection prevention and control measures are being rigorously enforced.
