On August 25, Salaberry-Suroît MP Claude DeBellefeuille hosted her annual corn roast at Salaberry Park in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. This was the third year that this event took place, and the deputy was excited to see the event continue to grow in popularity. This year, over 300 people were present.
The event was coordinated by the Club Optimiste de Valleyfield, with help from the Club Optimiste de Saint-Anicet. It was a part of the first-ever Fête interculturelle de la Ville de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Guests were welcome to enjoy corn and hotdogs, and chat with their MP.
DeBellefeuille took a moment to celebrate the day, and to thank the people who helped make it possible. “I’m delighted that so many people turn out every year to celebrate the end of summer with me. The sun was out once again! I’d like to thank each and every one of you for coming; it’s thanks to you that this event was such a success. I’d also like to thank the Valleyfield Optimist Club, who managed to cope with the huge turnout,” she shared.
Salaberry-de-Valleyfield councillors France Chenail and Stéphane Leduc organized the music for the event. There was also free lemonade provided by Malcom 2.0 Limonade. DeBellefeuille ended by recognizing the volunteer support that made the day possible, “I’d like to extend my deepest thanks to all the volunteers who supported my team in the organization of my corn roast.
