Mount Allison University kicker Graeme Maither was named the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Special Teams player of the week for the interval ending November 6. The first-year commerce student from Hinchinbrooke played a major role in the Mount Allison Mounties semi-final win over the Bishop’s Gaitors on November 5. The rookie kicker averaged 42.2 yards on 10 punts and scored a field goal during his team’s 15-12 victory, which secured the Mounties a berth in the 2022 AUS Subway Loney Bowl for the first time since 2016. The Mounties squared off against St-Francis Xavier University in the final on November 12 but lost to the defending champions by a score of 21-15. Maither scored a field goal during the game, and successfully kicked for the extra point following a Mount Allison touchdown toward the end of the game.
