The 50th anniversary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital Foundation was recognized during a networking event organized by the Association des gens d’affaires d’Ormsotwn et des environs (AGAO+) on August 28 at the Ormstown Golf Club.

A certificate of recognition from the National Assembly signed by the Quebec minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, was presented to Foundation president Robert Greig and board member Madeleine Himbeault in recognition of the organizations’ many initiatives to benefit the Ormstown-based hospital and health services in the Haut-Saint-Laurent.
The distinction was presented to the Foundation on behalf of Dubé by Labour Minister Jean Boulet and Huntingdon MNA Carole Mallette. Philippe Gribeauval, the executive director of the Centre de santé et de services sociaux de la Montérégie-Ouest (CISSSMO), was also there for the presentation, as was Philippe Besombes, the president of the AGAO+.
