Howick basketball tournament hits 30 years

Around 130 elementary school students from the New Frontiers School Board took part in the 30th edition of the annual Howick Elementary Charity Basketball Tournament on March 22. The competitive team from Gault Institute won all four games they played and took home the title, while the team from Franklin Elementary won the most games in the participation tournament. Once the final games had been played, every player was rewarded with a medal for taking part. The tournament raised around $1,600 from registration fees, donations, and proceeds from the canteen. The funds will be donated to a local charity selected by Howick Elementary staff. (SR)
