Members of the Huntingdon County Hospital Foundation board of directors took a moment during their September 17 meeting to recognize long-time volunteer Meghan Condie and her exceptional dedication to the Huntingdon Residential and Long-term Care Centre (CHSLD) and its residents.
Foundation president David D’Aoust explained that the board wanted to celebrate Condie’s 20 years of service at the Huntingdon CHSLD with her. Staff members, residents, and a few important people in Condie’s life were invited to attend the celebration, which included a cake and a special surprise.
“We wanted to honour you,” said D’Aoust, who presented Condie with a $500 donation to go towards her training for the Special Olympics. “We are very happy, and we are very fortunate to have you,” he added.
Condie was surprised and obviously moved by the gesture. “This is my dream working with the residents here, and I am going to keep doing it!” she exclaimed, before thanking the foundation for its generous gift. (SR)
