Two locals from the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent, Jeffrey Lefebvre and Jamil Azzaoui, have been chosen as winners in the most recent round of the OSEntreprendre Challenge, an initiative aimed at promoting innovative entrepreneurs in Quebec. “The MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent has been supporting the OSEntreprendre Challenge for several years and is happy to acknowledge the local winners while also wishing them good luck in the region,” says Louise Lebrun, prefect of the MRC.
The two candidates were selected for their business plans, but above all for their passion for their work.
Construction J. Lefebvre, a new construction company from Havelock owned by Jeffrey Lefebvre, was selected in the Exploitation, Processing and Production category. Lefebvre has several years of experience in the construction industry. He decided to start his own business as a general contractor in order to be able to offer customers quality and durable products using the latest technologies and techniques. His company also offers a personalized service to meet the specific needs of its customers.

The jury also selected Jamil Azzaoui’s farm project, Au Jour le Jour, in the Commerce category. Azzaoui is a well-known musician and former promoter in the Montreal music scene. His passion project is his permaculture farm in Franklin, which is an extension of his values; it was selected because of his devotion to the business, as well for as his innovative agricultural approach.
Both projects will undoubtedly contribute to the diversity of the local economy in their respective fields. The two entrepreneurs will now represent the Haut-Saint-Laurent at the regional level in April. The national competition is in May. The Desjardins Grand Prix Gala of the OSEntreprendre Challenge will honor the national winners on June 9, 2021.
