Local candidates face off during live debate

A regional media consortium is hosting a series of political debates ahead of the provincial election with candidates from the Beauharnois and Huntingdon ridings on September 29.

The debates will be moderated in French by journalists with Csur la télé/TVC, the Journal Saint-François, and The Gleaner. They will be livestreamed starting at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on the different media platforms, as well as those of the consortium partners including the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, the Beauharnois-Valleyfield-Haut-Saint-Laurent and the community development corporations of Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CDCVS), Beauharnois-Salaberry (CDCBHS), and the Haut-Saint-Laurent (CDCHSL).

A live screening of the debate between Huntingdon candidates will take place at the LBA dining hall at the Ormstown fairgrounds.

The screening will be hosted by the CDCHSL, which has also prepared a series of video capsules on each of the candidates. The video clips, as well as the link to register for the live screening, can be found on the CDCHSL’s website: cdchsl.org. (SR)
