1927–2024
We are saddened to announce the death of our mother, Jean Louise McClintock (née Robinson), on October 8, 2024, at the young age of 97; beloved wife of the late Erskine McClintock.
Loving mother of Wendy (Rick) and Murray (JoAnn), Grandma to Erica (Steven), Gordon (Cecilia), Stacey (Kirk), Shelley, Scott (Katelyn), and Jayme (Philip), and a very special Great “Old” Grandma to Braidey, Avery, Tomas, Evan, Hollie, Jessica, Malia, Ellie, Kassidy and Lyla.
Jean was born on May 3, 1927 in Lacolle Quebec, second child of the late Elmer and Blanche Robinson. Predeceased by her sisters Helen, Mary, Ruth, Lois and her brother, Don. She is survived by her brother Alan, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jean moved to Ormstown in 1944 to complete her high school, it was there she met and fell in love with Erskine. They married in September of 1949 and moved to the stone house on the farm, where they spent many happy years together. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought endless hours of sunshine to their lives.
She will be remembered as a teacher, friend, and volunteer on numerous committees and groups. She was also a devoted choir member and strong supporter of St. Paul’s United Church.
The family would like to give many special thanks to her devoted caregivers, who provided much comfort during the last few years, allowing her to remain in her own home.
According to her wishes, a private graveside service is planned. The family invites you to join them at the Ormstown Fairgrounds Dining Hall, on October 18 from 2 to 5 p.m., for a time of sharing and remembering.
