Over 160 people attended the second annual job fair organized by the Montérégie West Community Network (MWCN), which took place on March 25 in Saint-Chrysostome.
“We had a variety of exhibitors from different industries,” said the MWCN’s employability and youth mental health coordinator, Joanne Basilières. There were 22 different exhibitors, including major area employers such as the New Frontiers School Board, the Centre Integré de Santé et Services Sociaux (CISSSMO), Parc Safari, Rose LifeSciences, and Les Vergers Leahy.
The event also included several youth and employment community organizations, as well as those offering mental health and other social services. “A job seeker’s journey is complex,” said Basilières, who described the event as offering a more holistic approach to job hunting.
Basilières said the response was positive, and exhibitors expressed interest in participating in the event again next year. (SR)
