New format for UPA Open House on Quebec Farms

After being forced to cancel the annual Open House on Quebec Farms event due to the pandemic, the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) is bringing the popular activity back – but with a new format.

Rather than focusing on a single day with partner farms throughout the province, the UPA will instead be promoting open houses on farms throughout the summer. Agricultural producers from all regions of Quebec will welcome visitors to their farms following a calendar of activities that will run from June 24 to Thanksgiving. On the menu: a host of activities that will highlight seasonal local products.

The calendar of events, which will provide more detail about the different activities, will be available as of June 17 on the Mangeons local plus que jamais! (eat local more than ever) application. Currently, there are over 40 farms in the immediate area registered on the application, which was designed to help consumers find Quebec farms, markets, and processors that sell directly to the public.
