NFSB announces administrative changes in Howick

There will be some new faces behind the desk in the principal’s office at some New Frontiers School Board schools in the coming days.

The NFSB announced on November 20 that Howard S. Billings Regional High School principal Nicholai (Nick) Laframboise had resigned from the position for personal reasons. Replacing him as interim principal in Chateauguay will be Melanie Primeau, who is currently working as the principal at Howick Elementary School where she has been since 2017. She has previously served as vice-principal at Chateauguay Valley Regional High School.

“It is a beautiful challenge,” says Primeau, who admits it is bittersweet to be leaving Howick after six years. “The staff there helped me grow into the leader that I am today and have taught me so much along the way,” she says. “I am also grateful for the trust the parents and community gave me and the love from the students,” she adds, noting she is leaving with a full heart.

Eveline Taylor will be making a return to the NFSB to step in as interim principal at Howick Elementary until the end of the school year. Taylor recently retired as the principal of Franklin and Hemmingford Elementary Schools.
