Conditions were just right overnight on January 27 for the creation of snow rollers, a rare meteorological phenomenon where cylindrical snowballs are formed naturally as chunks of snow are blown along the ground by wind. They require the perfect combination of light sticky snow and strong winds. Numerous photographs of Mother Nature at play were captured in the Ormstown area, including these by Loraine Lamb Lalonde, who spotted these snow spirals in her fields along Tullochgorum Road.
