A collision involving a semi-trailer and a car took place on Route 202 near the intersection with Ridge Road in Hinchinbrooke on October 6. According to Valérie Beauchamp, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, the collision was considered a “53-foot truck versus car” situation, where a semi-trailer fell into a ditch, dragging a small car with it. The truck came to rest against a hydro pole which cracked and fell on it, leaving many homes in the surrounding area without power for much of the day. Four people were involved, including one individual who suffered minor injuries and who was taken to hospital by ambulance. Though the collision is considered to be minor, it could have been significantly worse.
