The Gleaner

Sapphire and stripes

The winning photograph submitted to The Gleaner’s fourth annual Pet Photo Contest features Ti Gars the cat, who enjoys relaxing in the sun during the day. Like photographer Renata Rose, our panel of judges couldn’t resist those beautiful blue eyes.

First Place

We received a total of 17 photographs showcasing some of the Valley’s finest four-legged friends for our contest in celebration of National Pet Day on April 11. The shutterbugs behind the first-, second-, and third-place photographs will each receive a gift certificate valid at any of our participating pet-related advertisers.

Second place

PHOTO Lori Carroll

Lovable pup Shilo can’t get enough cuddles from its owner while away at camp. This photo submitted by Lori Carroll of the smiling pooch won over the judges who couldn’t help but award it second place.

Third place

PHOTO Phylicia Brunette

This photo of handsome Marvin, a 10-year-old red-eared slider turtle, rounded out the judges’ picks for the top three pet photographs.
