Skating and scales in Hemmingford!

PHOTO Sarah Rennie

Mother Nature cooperated and temperatures dropped just enough over the weekend for families to enjoy solid ice at municipal skating rinks throughout the Valley. In Hemmingford, skaters met with some scaly creatures upon coming in from the cold, including Lewis, a Burmese python, who seemed to enjoy being stroked by this brave little visitor. Families were also able to get up close and personal with several lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, a hedgehog, and even a very friendly chinchilla, care of Pat Fallon whose pet show helped close out the three-week series of “Joys of Winter” activities at the Hemmingford recreation centre.
