Spartan Talk

With sports, choir, and other fun activities starting back up, it’s not hard to tell that the students at Chateauguay Valley Regional High School (CVR) are bound to have another great year. Thefirst taste of CVR sports came when the senior football team won the first game of their season,26-14 versus Ecole Secondaire SaintLaurent. Go Spartans! Other teams that have started gearing up for their seasons are the senior girls rugby 7s and the field hockey teams.

CVR’s Student Leadership program has fundraisers planned to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation. Some of the fundraisers include selling ice cream sandwiches (courtesy of CrèmerieFrederick), and having students donate a few dollars to participate in the annual Terry Fox Run/Walk taking place September 22.

The After-Hours Choir has started working on its repertoire for the fall season in preparation for several upcoming performances at various events. The Dungeons & Dragons Club has started a new campaign this year for both the juniors and the seniors. The Greenhouse Club planted garlic at the school last year and sold what it grew at this fall’s Curriculum Night. It’s no secret that CVR does some pretty amazing things for its students, and all this is a great way to kick off the year.
