In Huntingdon, Tuesday, July 16 at 91 years of age, Shirley peacefully passed. Predeceased by her beloved husband Harold, her parents Angus and Imogene McNaughton, Douglas, Elizabeth, Fred and Bruce McNaughton, Floyd and Helen Arthur and Donald McCaig. Survived by her loving sister Dorothy McCaig and dear friend Raleigh Hersey. Shirley was a dedicated and loving aunt to her devoted nephews Rick (Connie) and Brad (Diane) Arthur. She was a fun and caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Shirley was an active community volunteer throughout her life. Her legacy of kindness, compassion and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family and friends. The family will be at the Huntingdon United Church, Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to receive the condolences followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial at the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery. Donations in Shirley’s memory to the The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Huntingdon County Hospital or to the Huntingdon United Church would be appreciated. On behalf of my brother, Ted O’Malley, we offer our sincere sympathy to the family of Shirley McNaughton Stark on her recent passing. Our memories of Shirley go way back to the 1950s when my family & I spent many happy summers as guests of the McNaughton family on their farm. Shirley was dating her beau, Harold, then! From the wonderful tributes from many friends at her passing, she obviously remained the sweet helpful Shirley we knew then. Rest in Peace, Sweet Shirley!
