STEELE, Brenda (née Wylie)

Passed away peacefully in Huntingdon on Thursday, July 11, 2024 Mrs. Brenda Steele née Wylie aged 81 years. Beloved wife of John Steele.

She leaves to mourn her children Susan McKell, Rena McKell, Ian McKell (Valerie), Shona Steele and Gavin Steele (Laura), her grandchildren Wylie (Melissa) and Kyle Capp, Francois and Daniel Pastor, MacKenzie McKell, Amber and Dylan Steele. As well as 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephew, and cousins. Predeceased by her brother Ian Wylie and sister Kay Cleland (nee Wylie). Brenda grew up in Hemmingford, QC. She was a keen dancer; taking ballet, tap & highland dancing from a young age. She was an avid curler, taking part in the provincial senior women’s tournament several times. Brenda also took great pride tending her gardens, with a passion for her hibiscus plants, both perennial and tropical.

The family would also like to thank the supportive & compassionate caretakers at Huntingdon Hospital for making her feel comfortable throughout her short stay. A graveside service took place, Friday, July 26th at the Hillside Cemetery in Hinchinbrooke.  In lieu of flowers, any donations in Brenda’s name can be made to the Huntingdon County Hospital Foundation.
