Evelyn Sutherland, née Houston, passed away peacefully at the Huntingdon County Hospital on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband Walter, her son Stewart and her grandson Duncan. She leaves to mourn her sister Janet, brother Clint and her children Hugh (Jeannie), Margaret-Anne, Allan (Patrizia), Robbie (Mary) and Mackie (Laurel) and her grandchildren, Sara, Erin, Kirsten, Bruce, Daniel, Emma, Emily and Scott, great-grandchildren, Rosa and Laura, as well as many close family and friends. A native of Tyvan Saskatchewan, Evelyn lived on the farm in Godmanchester for nearly fifty years, before moving to Huntingdon. She was kind, generous, an intrepid traveller with a cultural curiosity, a voracious reader and a committed volunteer for many local organizations. She will be missed by many. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at La Source Bleue in Ormstown, as well as the exceptional and compassionate caregivers at the Huntingdon Hospital. The family will welcome relatives and friends on Saturday, June 22, 2024 for a service at 11:00 at the Zion United Church in Dundee, Qc., followed by burial at the Zion Cemetery.
