A Washers Tournament
… is happening on June 3 at the Hemmingford recreation centre for washer-flingers 12 years old and up. Cost is $20 per two-player team. There will be multiple prizes; get info and register at canton.hemmingford.ca/en/tournois-washers.
Exhibition of artwork

On Saturday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the municipality of Saint-Anicet is holding this family event at the community centre park (1560 Rue St-Anicet).
Water cycle workshop
The Little Green Library (4 Lorne Street, Huntingdon) will host a workshop on the water cycle for children aged 5 to 10 on Saturday, June 3, led by Les Neurones Atomiques in French from 10 to 11 a.m. and in English from 11 to noon. BBQ chicken stateside
On June 3, the Constable, N.Y. volunteer firemen host a chicken BBQ for $15 USD/$20 CAD. Drive through or dine in; starts at noon and goes until they’re sold out at Constable Fire Hall, 1136 State Route 122.
The third annual St. Mary’s bazaar
… will be at St. Mary’s church in Fort Covington, N.Y. on June 3. There will be a flea market, raffles, vendors, concession stands, and much more.
Pipe organ celebration in Rockburn
The Rockburn Presbyterian church will inaugurate its “new” pipe organ with a concert on June 4 at 4 p.m., with Sarah Fraser on the organ joined by Mark Fraser, cello; Stephen Crisp, director; and the Peace & Justice Choir. Free-will donation; all proceeds go to La Bouffe Additionnelle.
Collection of HHW in HSL
The first collection of household hazardous waste (HHW) for MRC residents will take place on Saturday, June 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the municipal garage in Saint-Anicet, 5001 Route 132. Only household products will be accepted. Any agricultural, industrial, or commercial waste, tires, or medication will be refused. More info on the MRC website.
