A total of 11 elaborately decorated sleds were entered in the Saint-Anicet Optimist Club’s Decorate Your Sled contest, which took place on March 5 at the Saint-Anicet Golf Club. Riders competed in single driver, co-pilot, and battalion (three riders or more) categories, while a team of esteemed judges scored each entry based on elements such as the creative use of cardboard and duct tape, as well as overall stability and performance on the hill. All participants were rewarded with rousing applause as they descended the slope, and while winners in each category were named, each rider was awarded a medal. Drawings for a selection of door prizes sponsored by local organizations and businesses took place on the sidelines, where spectators enjoyed traditional maple taffy. For the mayor of Saint-Anicet, Gino Moretti, the event was a great opportunity for families to enjoy quality time together while enjoying the outdoors. (SR)
