Beautiful blooms brighten Valley gardens

Valley gardens are in full bloom, and the results of The Gleaner’s fourth annual Floral Photo Contest suggest this region boasts some dandy green thumbs. This beautifully composed photograph by H.A. Bédard, featuring bright dahlias exploding with colour in Ormstown, was selected as the winner of the contest. The second-place photograph was snapped by Mary Greenbank of her pretty poppies that reseed themselves each year in Hemmingford. We received a total of 11 entries from readers for the contest, which was generously sponsored by La Vallée des Vivaces in Godmanchester and Les Jardins Rivière La Guerre in Saint-Anicet.

Thank you to all those who participated.
