Huntingdon MNA Carole Mallette and her team inaugurated their new satellite office in the municipality of Saint-Anicet on January 22 with a small ceremony, including Mayor Gino Moretti, municipal councillors, and representatives from several non-profit organizations and groups active in the community. The office will be located within the municipal town hall in Saint-Anicet for all of 2024.
Mallette explained it was important for her and her team to be present on the ground and in contact with constituents. Citizens will be able to meet with a member of the team in Saint-Anicet without an appointment on Thursday mornings, while the afternoons will be reserved for those who have booked appointments. The main office will remain in Saint-Martine, and a second satellite office was just opened in Saint-Clotilde.
Mayor Moretti said he was pleased to welcome the MNA, noting the office will enable Saint-Anicet citizens and those within the Haut-Saint-Laurent to directly access the services of their deputy. He noted as well that the rental fee paid by the MNA will be returned to the community in the form of donations to the Société Historique de Saint-Anicet, the FADOC Cazaville, the Cercle de Loisirs, and the Club Optimiste.
