Dewittville’s 100-year-old bridge sits atop two steel containers as construction to the foundation takes place below. The bridge, which links Dewittville in Godmanchester to the Island Road in Hinchinbrooke, was closed in June 2016 when structural issues were discovered with its piers and foundation. Repairs begun this April were put on hold as spring waters washed away site preparations that had been placed in fall 2020. In late May work crews were, once again, working on the bridge. Repairs should be finished by August.

The foundation stones from the 100-year-old Dewittville bridge sit waiting to be reinstalled.
