Les Entreprises V.A.G. Distribution (4507380 Canada inc.), and the business’s owner, Eric Jodoin, have been found guilty of violating the Environment Quality Act (EQA).
Jodoin, who resides in Longueuil, owns property in Franklin along Route 201. According to a press release issued by the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs, the company and Jodoin failed to comply with a 2021 order to stop “all illegal dumping or dumping of residual materials and contaminated soils, and to carry out characterization work on the eight lots in question.” As a result, the business is now being ordered to pay $30,000, plus applicable costs and contributions, for a total of $40,794. Jodoin has also been fined $20,000, for a total of $38,194 once applicable costs and contributions are added. (SR)
