Four arrests in connection with drug trafficking

Police officers from the MRC de Beauharnois-Salaberry detachment of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) arrested four individuals during a drug trafficking operation in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield on March 28.

The operation stemmed from an investigation that began in January. Officers carried out searches of four private residences and a vehicle, where they seized more than seven grams of cocaine, around 20 methamphetamine tablets, and over 120 prescription pills. Officers also confiscated approximately $865 in Canadian currency and several cellular phones.

Three men and one woman, aged between 40 and 55, were arrested and later released. All four could face charges related to drug trafficking.

Around 20 officers took part in the operation, including SQ dog handlers.

Two arrested in Huntingdon for drug trafficking

Police officers arrested two individuals and seized a significant amount of illicit drugs on March 21 during an operation led by the SQ’s MRC de Beauharnois-Salaberry detachment of the Sûreté du Québec.

The arrests and seizure were the result of an investigation that began in January 2024.

Officers raided a private residence on Fairview Street and seized nearly 15 grams of cannabis, just under three grams of cocaine, over 900 methamphetamine tablets, and approximately 200 contraband cigarettes. The police also seized over $900 in Canadian currency, as well as materials and documents used to traffic drugs. The Sûreté du Québec dog handler also participated in the operation.

A 56-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were arrested during the raid. Both appeared at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse, where they faced charges related to the illegal trafficking of drugs.

Drugs seized in Valleyfield

On March 7, officers from the Beauharnois-Salaberry detachment arrested a 60-year-old man after he was caught in the act of dealing drugs in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Officers also arrested a 23-year-old woman who was later released.

The man appeared at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse later that day to face charges including drug trafficking and breach of probation.

During this operation, which also involved the search of a vehicle, officers seized more than 650 methamphetamine tablets, approximately 3.5 grams of cocaine, 200 contraband cigarettes, over $1,200 in Canadian currency and two cellular phones.
