Accidents in Godmanchester and Sainte-Barbe
A car accident involving a single vehicle occurred around 7 p.m. on November 9 on Route 202 in Godmanchester. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which exited the road before coming to rest in a ditch. According to a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. on November 8, a single-vehicle car accident took place near Rang 6 on Route 202 in Sainte-Barbe. The driver was alone in the vehicle, which was found upside-down in the ditch. She was driven by ambulance to the Suroît Hospital in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield where she was treated for minor injuries.
Speeding in Godmanchester
SQ officers stopped a motorist for speeding on Route 138 in Godmanchester during the afternoon of October 26. The driver, who was in her twenties, was caught driving at 142 kilometres per hour in a 90 km/h zone. She was issued an $817 ticket for the infraction and received 10 demerit points. Her driver’s licence was also suspended for a period of seven days.
