The Huntingdon Tim Hortons raised just over $14,013 for the La Bouffe Additionnelle food pantry during its annual spring Smile Cookie campaign from April 28 to May 4.
Despite a somewhat slow start, the local Tim’s finished the campaign as the fifth best-selling location in the entire greater Montreal region. “We are super excited to have surpassed our goal of $10,000,” said La Bouffe Additionnelle’s director, Marine Mailloux.
At least 20 volunteers took part, helping to ice cookies in front of the counter while also pitching in behind the scenes in the kitchen. “Without them, the campaign would not have been as successful,” Mailloux acknowledged, while equally recognizing the hard work invested by the Tim Hortons staff, the La Bouffe Additionnelle team, and all those who contributed financially to the campaign.

The team at La Bouffe has already decided that the find raised during the campaign will be used to help purchase new freezers.
Other Tim Hortons within the Suroît region dedicated their campaigns to raising funds for the Fondation de l’Hôpital du Suroît. The collective effort between 11 restaurants raised $78,529 for the foundation, which will be used to support inclusive projects such as art therapy, equine therapy, cooking workshops, and the development of its Vigilance project for vulnerable youth. The funds will also be used to create a multisensory room for children aged 0 to 6 with neurodevelopmental disorders or physical disabilities. (SR)
