O-Ho Quilt Show
The O-Ho Quilters are hosting their quilt show on Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 4.p.m. at the Ormstown Curling Club (7 Chateauguay Street). Entry is $5, and that includes tea. All profits are distributed to local charities.
Curling 101 for women
Riverfield Curling Club is hosting Curling 101, an eight-week program for women aged 16 years and up. Participants will learn the basics while spending time with some empowering women. – Saturday, September 28, at Lac-Matic in Ormstown (8 Gale Street) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., benefitting the Ormstown Guides and Scouts.
– Saturday, October 5, at the recreation centre in Saint-Antoine-Abbé (2555 Du Parc) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., benefitting the Haut Comme Trois Pommes daycare.

Parish supper in Huntingdon
There will be a chicken supper for Huntingdon’s Saint Joseph Parish on September 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the parish hall (13 York Street). Enjoy BBQ chicken with gravy, baby potatoes, coleslaw, bread, dessert, as well as coffee, tea, or fruit punch. Dine in, get delivery, or take it out. Bluegrass gospel hour
There will be a Bluegrass gospel hour with Stewart Burrows and Alice Packard at Rockburn Presbyterian Church (2475 Rockburn Sideroad) on Sunday, September 22 at 9:30 a.m.
Antique tractor pull
The 20th annual Armhurst Farms Antique Tractor Pull was postponed due to the weather, and is now happening on September 22 at 11 a.m., at 7911 Dundee Centre Road (the Armstrong Farm).
H’ford Legion chicken BBQ dinner
Enjoy another delicious chicken dinner at the Hemmingford Legion on Saturday, September 28. Reservations only; call Lise Brown at 514-705-2192 by Friday, September 27, to reserve your large half-chicken, baked potato, gravy, coleslaw, dinner roll, and dessert – all for only a $20 donation. Pickup is from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall (486 Rue Champlain).
Art and photo exhibition, Calme
On Friday, September 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., MRC’s annual group exhibition, Calme, will open at the Salle Culturelle Alfred-Langevin in Huntingdon and run until October 27. Giant Mandala returns
The Giant Mandala will reappear in Ormstown during Les Journées de la Culture, on Saturday, September 28. Join in to participate in painting this work of art on Rue Du Moulin in Ormstown from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Paint and brushes are supplied, and the activity is open to all!
Come walk in the forest
The CIEL Nature Reserve invites all to its Jean-Luc-Génier sector (425 Chemin Walsh, Saint-Anicet, on the edge of Godmanchester), on Saturday, September 28, from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. CIEL volunteers have set up trails around the 84-hectare territory; allow up to two hours for the complete tour. Guided walks are possible at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Let them know you’re coming by emailing: ciel@ciel-eco.com – leave your name, arrival time, and number of people. Comedy in Saint-Anicet
