The Valley was cheering for Zachary L’Heureux as he stepped onto the ice for the first time at the Bell Centre in Montreal on December 6, when the Nashville Predators took on the Canadiens. The National Hockey League rookie, who was called up by the Predators in October, literally had his own cheering section with friends and family making the trip to the city to watch the game. Though the Predators wound up losing the match, it didn’t stop L’Heureux from celebrating with his many local fans afterwards. Another familiar face for local hockey fans took to the ice with the Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women’s Hockey League, for their season opener against the Ottawa Charge on November 30. Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague native Alexandra Labelle signed with the team just in time to start the season, after playing last year in New York. (SR)
