Saint-Anicet golfer Jason Ford recently returned from the Quebec Special Olympics provincial golf tournament with a silver medal. A total of 29 golfers participated in the final tournament of the season, which took place at the Club de Golf de Crabtree in the Lanaudière region on August 26.

Ford practices at the Club de Golf de Valleyfield, where he trains with course pro Alexandre Leduc every Monday during the season. He began playing golf with the Sud-Ouest Special Olympics team five years ago, and he continues to amaze spectators with his drive, both in terms of his determination and his ability to hit 250 yards with only a half-swing. “He is also pretty good at putting and chipping,” says his mother, Diane Ford. “We are very proud of him.” (SR)
